  1. 3D-ICONS

  3. I saw some pictures of the new NeXT computer raising all the hub-bub.
  4. I couldn't do much about adding additional hardware at the moment, but
  5. One of the things that DID strike me as do-able was the slick icons that
  6. I saw on the NeXT's screen.  They are (or appeared in the picture) to be
  7. embossed images on pedistals.  They ARE slick images.  So here is a
  8. collection of disk icons that I made up in that 3D, embossed style.

  10. You'll find a number of icons for each "type" and "name" disk device
  11. you have.  Simply copy the appropriate .info file to the disk and rename
  12. DISK.INFO as you copy it.  To aid in seeing what each icon looks like, I've
  13. included a picture file.  View it with any IFF ILBM picture viewing utility.

  15. You'll also find a number of PREF.color files.  These will set your
  16. preferences to the proper color setup for the embossed effect.  Use the
  17. enclosed PREFS utility from the CLI.  Type "PREFS PREF.color" (without the
  18. quotes) to apply the setup.  Note that all the other variables from
  19. preferences is applied too, including my printer, graphics setup, screen
  20. position, etc.  If you wish to keep a particular color setup, be sure to
  21. reset your other settings.
